HEY SNOWDON COUGARS!
Mrs. Snider here, your school counselor. This is the place to find information on what a school counselor does, community resources, social & emotional learning activities, ways to contact me and more!
At Snowdon, we believe in the
mission of the
Snowdon Elementary Counseling Program to contribute, along with staff, families and community, positively and successfully to
the academic, career and social & emotional development of ALL students by utilizing a comprehensive program based on data and researched best practices.
It is the vision of the Snowdon Elementary Counseling Program for EVERY student to develop the academic, career & social/emotional skills to be successful students and become responsible & productive citizens who are college and career ready.
My goal is to reach every student, every year! This is usually accomplished by teaching in the classroom, having lunches with students, doing short-term individual counseling, group counseling and having random chats in the hall! If you, as a parent, would like to have your child see me, please reach out to me via phone, email or a visit here to Snowdon. Typical discussion topics include, but aren't limited to, healthy relationships, anti-bullying & harassment, focusing in the classroom, family concerns, receiving resources (such as food, housing, outside counseling, etc), and anything else that will help your child be the best student & friend they can be.
